Meet Alex Chuah: Carrying Forward Badminton Legacy in Melbourne

Alex Chuah: A Legacy of Passion and Expertise in Badminton
Alex Chuah grew up in a badminton-loving family in Malaysia, where the sport is deeply rooted in the culture. Surrounded by this passion, Alex's connection to badminton began at a young age. Now, he continues his family’s business legacy with Add One Sports, proudly expanding it to Springvale, Melbourne.
Master of Stringing: Since the Age of 6
Alex’s stringing philosophy is simple yet effective: “Don’t Rush, but Fast", reflects our approach to stringing: we dedicate ourselves to ensuring every racquet is strung perfectly, without rushing the process, but always maintaining the efficiency to deliver results swiftly. It’s about focusing on the details while getting things done fast—because excellence doesn’t have to be slow. Starting at just 6 years old, he began honing the craft of badminton racquet stringing. With over 20 years of experience, Alex has strung more than 66,000 racquets, becoming a true expert in the field. His skills are so refined that he can complete a full restringing service in under 20 minutes, and he’s even capable of stringing a racket blindfolded! TRY HIM ~
From Player to Coach: A Complete Badminton Journey
Alex’s journey in badminton extends beyond stringing. He started training at the age of 3 and eventually became a former state player in Penang, Malaysia. After years of on-court experience, Alex transitioned into coaching. With over 10 years of coaching experience, he continues to share his knowledge and passion for the sport with players of all levels.
